The Hypermobility Unit at the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth is a specialist centre for the diagnosis and management of all hypermobility-related disorders. Our very experienced multi-disciplinary team provides personalised high quality care in the diagnosis and management of the range of disorders that may be associated with joint hypermobility, and is unique in providing treatment and services associated with such patients with complex problems. Our aim is to help you optimise your health and support you toward management of your condition.
Our services include specialist clinics in Rheumatology, Neuro-Gastroenterology, Autonomic Dysfunction, Clinical Genetics, Uro-gynaecology, Cardiology and Orthopaedic surgery as well as specialised therapy including Physiotherapy. We also work very closely with our Pain Psychology colleagues. Our Unit receives referrals from all over the UK and across the world. We work collaboratively with the NHS, specialist centres and organisations.
We are currently not able to offer consultant appointments for children and adolescents under the age of 16 years. Our physiotherapy service for children and adolescents will continue to run as normal, and, as before, patients will need a consultant or GP referral to access this.
The only facility of its kind, the forward-thinking multi-disciplinary Hypermobility Unit at the world-renowned Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth caters for all the medical needs of patients with Joint Hypermobility Syndrome (JHS).
